Friends of the NEHEMIA Association was founded in Stuttgart, Germany

The NEHEMIA Foundation has had a lot of friends in Germany - right from the start. To combine and boost their possibilities and activities and to find new friends are the major goals of the newly founded Association of Friends of the Educational Institution of the NEHEMIA Foundation in Albania.

Fifteen NEHEMIA supporters out of every part of Germany convened in Stuttgart for the inaugural meeting and a further five sent written greetings and declarations of membership. Even though many of the present haven’t known each other, a good working atmosphere was evident immediately.

After Arnold Geiger presented the past achievements and the current situation of the NEHEMIA Foundation, Kurt W. Schönherr put forward the goals of the association:

The NEHEMIA University should, as a Christian university, be a role model for Albania and other countries. It needs ongoing professional advice in view of the more or less restrictive national educational administration and the new reforms in the academic sector. Material help is additionally needed for poorer students and for an efficient university business plan.

Our association will help with:
- PR about Albania, the educational institutions and especially the University of the NEHEMIA Foundation.
- Contact exchange and contact management to win more donors and partners to aid students.
- Advertisement for research and development requests for the institutes of the NEHEMIA University.
- Organizing of informative meetings and fund-raising.
- Initiating of school and church partnerships.
- Advisory board for assisting the development of NEHEMIA University to international level.

The registered office of the charitable association is in Weilheim/Oberbayern, offices can be established in Berlin and in other cities outside of Germany.

The committee of the association is composed of Barbara von Schnurbein (Chair), Ute Hauser (Vice-Chair), Waltraud Sebastian, Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Berthold, Christine Grübele, Lennart Konschewitz, Arlinda Merdani.

The membership fee is 120 Euros a year per person.

Using the words of Arnold Geiger, let us be partners to make the vision and the mission of the NEHEMIA Foundation a reality, together – hand in hand.
